I am going to have to try this.

  2. Earnoncomputer says:

Yes, organic traffic is necessary for any business. Google can help to get organic traffic.

  3. SEO UK says:

I’m inclined to take infomational lectures from the major name SEOs with a pinch of salt. I want to know what they AREN’T telling you, not be reminded of what they happily give away freely.

  4. I appreciate all that you guys do. It certainly helped my business.

  5. ….some great information brought up for both near and long term. Looking forward to the next episode!

  6. Terry says:

I completely agree about organic traffic, and thanks for sharing this important and helpful with us and bringing us up to speed with no cost info that others make you pay for… if they even share it.

  7. Patrick says:

I’m really interested in this concept and look forward to learning more. But listen, I really have to say this about the presentation. It was as far away from professional as you can get. The constant use of filler words (yeah, whatever, uhm, etc.) is annoying and distracting. Watching you pull gum out of your mouth on camera was dumb-founding. I’m not sure if you were simply trying to present a casual video, or you simply didn’t prepare at all. The long pauses as you tried to think of something to say, and the lethargic input of your phone guest (how many times did he simply say, “Absolutely”? He had nothing worthwhile to say).
It sounds like I’m being hyper-critical, but if you believe in this as much as you say you do, it seems like you would at least try to demonstrate that by at least putting some effort into preparing for your presentation.

  8. Good stuff.. Great content.. I appreciate the value and look forward to listening to more!!

  9. Viv says:

    HI There Jim

Thanks for the SESS coupon entry – I found the video above a problem in that I had my speakers turned up real loud – you were coming through very, very loud – but I could not hear what the person you were speaking to was saying.

    Any ideas???

  10. John Reed says:

Sorry – I have to come down on the critical side here Jim.

I have to admit that I thought this was some sort of spoof at first!
With all the interruptions and clattering about I wondered just what it could all be about – unless it was going to become a “That’s how not to do it” set up!

“Absolutely” sends a shudder down my spine anyway, it’s as overused as “Awesome” and grates on every auditory nerve!

No Jim, I need to get into this topic but I have to say that you didn’t kick it off in the style I was expecting for the intro of a new (to me at least) venture.

I’ll have to work on the principles and tell myself this was just a hurried blip in your eagerness to get the SESS launched.

Cheers though, your material is usually entertaining and very informative.

    John

  11. Paul Buckley says:

I don’t watch videos or attend ‘webinars’. I don’t have time. However, since local SEO is a big part of my business, I’m looking forward to the other resources in SESS. Ping.fm and socialoomph are new resources for me so I’ve learned something today

  12. Scott says:

Personally, speaking as “the guest” on the other end of the phone, I do think the call went on way too long and strayed in too many directions rather than focusing on the meat, and on specific actionable tasks.

I also think the the audio quality of the speaker phone in the background made it pretty difficult listen to, and Finally, I will ABSOLUTELY try to minimize my use of the word “absolutely” in the future. ;) I’ve counted 6 so far and it’s only 10 minutes in…

As far as being “lethargic” goes, i’m not sure what to say – At this pooint in the call i’m participating pretty weell, and no one’s ever told me I was “too quiet” before, but – I KNOW that perception is reality, Patrick, so it’s a point well taken. Perhaps I was trying to be too polite and I remember constantly trying not not interrupt Jim during the call… I dunno, but It would be “awesome” if i could work on that too – LOL

  13. Scott says:

Awww – I just posted my comment here, and when the page refreshed I lost my spot in the video – the FW / RW buttons are grayed out.

My fault I guess, but a slider on the video player to skip forward, and maybe even a download link so i could listen later would be nice to have here. There’s also no indication of how long this call is overall, which always does bug me… just my 2 cents…

  14. Crosby says:

Jim, I am at a loss here. There seems to be a select few here who do not seems to appreciate your method of deliverance. I see no one forcing them to hang in there. Personally I thought you were great with all of the ‘free’ information. I am not sure if they are being critical of the presentation, the information or both. What I do know is that there are three options here. One they can be glad they are here receiving this for free, two they can hit the back button and last there is always the “X” on top of each page or video. I just want to say thank you for bringing something to me I did not know. For all that is knowledgeable here please remember there are newbies who know nothing so get over yourselves. Now I purposely did not mention any names but if you want to come back at me feel free but remember I have an ‘X’ and back button also. Peace out! oops sorry i was spitting out my gum lol

  15. Paul Klein says:

Great content, and more to come! Looking forward to the next episode. You always know how to treat us to the top stuff.

  16. ….some great information brought up for both near and long term. Looking forward to the next episode!

  17. Art Remnet says:

    As usual Jim, great content.

    Thanks so much!

  18. Terry Loving says:

I always learn from discussions about SEO – it is such a fluid process – changing frequently with the need to analyze and adjust. If someone else has discovered something else that is “working” I am ready to give it a try. Thanks for the video

    • Just remember Terry that this is just ONE source and while it is a nice LGMSH (Large Gaping Magnetic Spider Hole), there are others out there and the how-to article discusses how to spot those so you can use another angle. Remember, link diversity is paramount in 2010 and having links coming from all sorts of places.

    Jim
Unfortunately, I just got around to listening to this presentation…Wow..this is great stuff and it's free…
I plan on listening to this one again and implementing each strategy.
Jim quick question…is it possible to download the audio to my computer or MP3 player?

    • Ron,

You can actually go ahead and send the recording to yourself by going over to blip.tv and typing in Search Engine Seduction, going to the file and downloading video to your computer. I don't believe there is an MP3 available on this however.

  20. Sheryl Renning says:

Rand Fishkin's link isn't working. I was looking forward to seeing the presentation.

  21. This was really great to listen to and learned some great tips. Loved what you said about getting tips from posts etc, I had a question that couldn't quite understand. You had mentioned a plug in that when people spread your content on twitter etc the posts can show on your page. I noticed some guys have posted on twitter and it shows on this page. was that a plug in or how was that done. Great stuff will be back.
